2017 Zelda
16 glass / 44 bottle / 35 club
I first heard the siren song of Zinfandel while growing up in California. Actually, it was my father whom I need to thank. He loved Zinfandel of all styles and introduced me to their subtle complexities and chameleon-like nature...
..Being a trained chef, he loved to pair his favorite Zins with dishes like smoked oysters, pot-au-feu, and big, juicy porterhouse steaks. I was his willing accomplice.
This Zin is an expression of my youth in California, my eccentric father, and the wines that we both love. I call it "Zelda" to describe its exuberance and whimsical beauty. I hope you enjoy it!
Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Lively fruit on the nose with a long, beautiful finish. The spice is just right. You’ll taste blackberry jam, red currant, and a hint of chocolate and cinnamon spice.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair this one with a big, juicy porterhouse steak - then, good night. I also like it with roasted leg of lamb with lots of garlic and rosemary. Holly even likes to sip this one with chocolate torte.
